Lasers Pre-Treatment
Pre-treatment requirements
No sunbathing/tanning/solarium or fake tan for at least 6 weeks before treatment. We need your skin to be as near to its natural colour as possible.
For the male face it is advisable to have the hair removed by waxing since this treatment can also target hairs in the beard area.
Day of treatment
Wash treatment area thoroughly; ensure removal of all skin creams, sunscreens, and make-up. We can provide cleanser if necessary.
Immediate post treatment
The area may be red and warm for a few hours. If this is uncomfortable use a cool flannel but avoid ice.
Avoid preparations that have blood thinning or anti-inflammatory properties e.g. avoid aloe vera, Ibuleve, Difflam, Asprin.
Avoid any of the above preparations or similar for at least 7 days
Avoid smoking, alcohol, sport and drink plenty of water to hydrate.
Avoid the sun by covering the area e.g. sunhat.
Maintain any other prescribed medications e.g. antiviral creams as directed by your own physician
Always consult your doctor if you are unsure about use of medications.
Subsequent treatments
Wear sunscreen SPF15 (Environ RAD) and cover up when outside – just a short time in the sun between treatments can undo the work we have carried out
